Halliwell ABC Prove Future Is Bright With Home Show Success

Halliwell ABC kicked off the exciting new 2026/27 season with another fantastic home show in Farnworth.

From top to bottom on the card of brilliant amateur boxing, juniors and seniors all enjoyed great match-ups and continued to develop their skills in front of home supporters.

There were 15 well-matched bouts on the show in total at the now familiar home venue of The Hideout Arena.

This included superb performances from the younger boxers in their skills bouts, with Leon Wilson, Bobby Whittaker and Saaim Aslam all showing great improvements.

Max Booth also enjoyed a very impressive debut, while Jack ‘Hammer’ Brooks just missed out with a great performance, winning lots of fans over through his exciting style and determination.

Faran Green was also in a high-paced fight again, as he rallied to a decision triumph to gain rematch revenge over a local rival, while Jordan McKendrey won his scored debut with a solid performance and Olly McLoughlin was just edged out in a great fight with a strong opponent.

Seb Fowler also prevailed on his Halliwell ABC debut wth a superb performance, while Aaliyah Seema was very unfortunate not to get the nod in a close encounter and Harrison Byrne learned a lot from his debut display in Farnworth too.

As well as the younger generation, the more established fighters on the roster maintained their impressive career journeys too, including Asim Mahmoud, who was involved in a brilliant close fight on his Halliwell debut.

Amar Farooq also returned to winning ways with a fantastic display, Sam Lane earned another win on his impressive run of form lately, and Jack Gregory narrowly missed out against a top opponent.

Former Head Coach, Phil Robinson, was more than pleased with the performances overall from the squad.

“What a fantastic night it was for our first Halliwell ABC home show of the season,” he said.

“There were some big wins and some lessons learned on the night.

“Thank you to all our sponsors for making it possible, including Cafe Italia, Heskins LLC, Bury Roofing and Edmundson’s.

“Also, thanks to all the officials for giving up their free time to help with the show.

“And to all of the away clubs who came and competed, as well as all of the support from Bolton for coming out to support. It was great support as always.

“There will be big news dropping soon for October.”
