Free Kids Classes

KEEP YOURSELF MOVING & ACTIVE

At Elite Community Hub we think all kids should have the opportunity to learn a variety of sports. This variety of sports will help them to keep fit and strong but it will also teach them different movement patterns. Boxing teaches many different movement patterns and also key attributes such as a good work ethic, dedication and resilience that may be invaluable in their future’s. Living costs are on the rise and paying for different sports clubs for youngsters can become an expensive burden.

We have managed to secure funding through various charities so we can deliver free boxing classes to kids.

These children’s boxing sessions are split into different age groups and teach them all the skills they need to progress into more advanced classes.

Harvey Simm – From Free Kids Classes To Active Amateur Boxer

Harvey joined us not that long ago he first started with our free kids classes that we hold twice a week in our Elite Community Hub C.I.C , he enjoyed it that much he became a member of Elite-boxing Thai-boxing doing the classes, free sparring and sprints.

His aim was to box amateur, after his dedication we gave him the chance to box for the team and now he is an active amateur boxer for Halliwell ABC – from someone who struggled to walk up the stairs to our gym to an active amateur boxer this is another fantastic success story to come from our gym and shows what work we do to help the local kids reach there dreams!!

Testimony from Harvey’s mum below

“Harvey started training in the free classes in Nov 21 he was very self conscious of his weight and wanted to get fit. By the middle of January 22 he started training twice a week in the paid sessions. He fell in love with the sport and with a lot of encouragement and support from all of the coaches especially mikey his confidence levels grew and the weight loss was amazing. His attitude and behaviour at school improved as he was getting in a lot of trouble due to reacting to name calling mainly and a quick temper but the coaches not only physically train them they also teach a different mind set to handling situations. In the end of July 2022 he moved upto amateur, the pride not only that Harvey had for himself for achieving this I also felt and still do. Phil,Joe, Gemma and John, just to name a few coaches continue to push him weekly and his confidence levels continue to grow. Physically and mentally he’s the fittest he’s ever been. With the dedication Harvey has put in and the support of everyone at Halliwell abc he has lost in total 30kg.”

Harvey has now competed in 2 skills bouts for Halliwell And hopefully this season 23/24 will move on to his first competitive bout for the club Harvey is proof that the right attitude and positive surroundings you can achieve your dream
