New Bury Amateur Boxing Club
New Bury once had a popular boxing gym where fighters such as Jack Flatley (current professional Boxer, ex English champion and European title challenger) started their journey into boxing. For numerous reasons this club closed its doors.
The staff at Elite Community Hub know the value and the benefits a boxing gym gives to its local Community. Working as part of an alliance with different community groups from the area and the Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Unit they have managed to get the club up and running again.
Jack Flatley is the head coach as there is unlikely to be anyone better to inspire the local kids. This project has been an incredible success and many of the community have stepped up to help with the coaching. This club is now growing and expanding and is likely to become as popular as it ever was.
Chantelle Howe
New Bury Boxing Club was reopened by the incredible Chantelle, who started as a secretary at Elite Boxing, this club has grown into a thriving community hub. Chantelle’s passion for boxing and dedication to making a positive impact led her to reopen Newbury Boxing Club.
Chantelle’s commitment to her role is evident through her completion of a Level 1 England Boxing course. This qualification ensures that our club operates at the highest standards, providing a safe and professional environment for all members.
But Chantelle’s impact extends far beyond elite. She played a pivotal role in building the Elite Community Hub CIC, collaborating with organizations like Youth Challenge, Maverick Stars, and offering free kids’ classes. These initiatives aim to empower our youth, instilling discipline, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Chantelle’s dedication to our community goes even further. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, she organized projects and secured funding to provide free meals to those in need. Her selflessness and compassion have made a significant difference in the lives of many.
As Chantelle’s impact continued to grow, she moved on to work full-time for Bolton CVS and VRU. While we are sad to see her leave the gym, we are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and know that she will continue to make a positive impact in her new role.
Newbury Boxing Club has truly become a community hub, offering more than just boxing. We provide a space for personal growth, community engagement, and support.
Join us at Newbury Boxing Club and become part of our vibrant community. Together, we can achieve greatness both inside and outside the ring.
Let’s continue to build a stronger, healthier, and more connected community together!

FARAN GREEN
Faran started out at Newbury Boxing Club with the goal of eventually boxing competitively in the near future, he progressed fast as he is a fantastic listener. He has since progressed from Newbury to become a carded boxer at Halliwell ABC, he has had 3 skills bout and 1 proper bout under the club and has a very bright future ahead of him.
Faran often goes back to Newbury Boxing Club to help out in the sessions where he is now a role model to the other kids who train at the gym who want to eventually progress like he has.
Its another great success story and shows how important having a boxing club in the community is to the young kids who don’t have much to do anymore.
