WHAT IS HAF?
The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme provides free holiday sessions for children aged 8–13, combining fun activities, physical exercise, and nutritious food in a safe and supportive environment.
At Elite Community Hub, HAF is more than just a holiday club — it’s about building confidence, keeping young people active, and creating positive experiences that last beyond the holidays.

OUR APPROACH TO WELLBEING
We embed the Five Ways to Wellbeing (CLANG) into everything we do:
- Connect – building friendships
- Learn – trying new skills
- Be Active – staying physically active
- Notice – encouraging awareness and confidence
- Give – promoting kindness and teamwork
This helps young people understand their own wellbeing and build positive habits.
THE IMPACT WE’RE SEEING
Our HAF programme creates real change:
- Increased confidence and self-belief
- Improved mental and physical wellbeing
- Stronger friendships and social skills
- Young people trying new experiences for the first time
- Greater resilience and independence
For many children, this is more than just a session — it’s a place where they feel safe, included, and supported.

REAL STORIES FROM OUR HAF PROGRAMME
One young person with additional needs joined our programme feeling anxious about new environments and group settings.
Through structured support, SEN-friendly sessions, and encouragement from staff, they grew in confidence, built friendships, and fully engaged in activities — including trips and cooking sessions.
By the end of the programme, they were interacting more, trying new experiences, and their parent reported a huge improvement in confidence.
INCLUSIVE FOR ALL YOUNG PEOPLE
We are committed to making HAF accessible to everyone.
We support children with additional needs by:
- Providing structured and predictable sessions
- Using visual tools like transition books
- Offering SEN-friendly environments
- Giving additional support where needed
Every young person is welcomed and supported to take part.

MOMENTS THAT MATTER
“I feel like a real adventurer.”
“I didn’t think I could do it, but I can.”
These moments show the real impact of giving young people opportunities to step outside their comfort zone and succeed.
